Jaydn turns 2!

Even though Jaydn isn't home yet, we opted for a big celebration in her honor on her 2nd birthday (August 14th, 2010) instead of a day at home thinking about her. The sacrificial hearts of the people that were there was astounding! From volunteers making and bringing hot dogs, side dishes, water, ice, condiments, plates and silverware to kids setting up lemonade stands and bake sales- the amount of love we were shown that day was overwhelming. We had face painting, crafts, nail painting, games, water play, slides and swings, music, you name it! The outpouring of love and support was exactly what I needed to get me through the day, emotionally. We are so blessed.

I was so shocked that despite not having a ton of people in attendance, we walked away from that birthday fundraiser event with $1200 in donations toward our travel costs. Within a few days following, more donations were made by people that weren't able to make it that day for various reasons, which doubled our original amount. So within a week, God blessed our family through the giving of our family and friends, with $2400 toward our travel to Uganda.

Currently we are only $3,800 away from our goal of raising enough money for our flights and the 4 week+ (estimated) stay in Uganda that we currently await the dates of! We stand in awe of how God continues to provide for us and how creative and loving He is in how it has been done.
